Unity story historically me
The only time I went to Sunday school as a child was when we were visiting with my cousins or someone from school asked me. I never questioned or wondered why my parents never took me. Years later I learned that there had been a falling out with the priest refusing to marry my parents, dad being Anglican and all.
I could never logically understand how all the different religions could say the same thing, yet run each other down.
Just realized in this moment that I repeated the family history when I married a Catholic and never went to church during that 2 year marriage.
Then in 1991, a failed relationship drama magically led me to finding Unity of Vancouver. It was Mothers Day and I decided to go to the Sunday service to get the information about their Wednesday night co-dependancy 12 step program.
How did the minister know! It was like he was talking directly to me. I felt like I had come home. Finally a place that fit and nurtured my spiritual journey.
The gifts of Unity are many. A loving husband and his family with delightful young grandsons that teach us so much. ( mmmmh another repeat of family history as his son married a catholic )
Wonderful Unity church memories on our travels.
My own evolution into serving this wonderful community. I still shake my head, never in a million years would I have believed that I would be praying out loud with others, let alone admitting it to friends and family.
I am so grateful for all my life choices as they have created the 'me' I am today. I am truly blessed that GOD led me home.
