Meditation refers to any form of a family of practices in which practitioners train their minds or self-induce a mode of consciousness to realize benefit.[1][2][3]
Meditation is generally an inwardly oriented, personal practice, which individuals can do by themselves. Prayer beads or other ritual objects may be used during meditation. Meditation may involve invoking or cultivating a feeling or internal state, such as compassion, or attending to a specific focal point. The term can refer to the state itself, as well as to practices or techniques employed to cultivate the state.[4]
There are dozens of specific styles of meditation practice;[3] the word meditation may carry different meanings in different contexts. Meditation has been practiced since antiquity as a component of numerous religious traditions.
A 2007 study by the U.S. government found that nearly 9.4% of U.S. adults (over 20 million) had practiced meditation within the past 12 months, up from 7.6% (more than 15 million people) in 2002.[5]
Since the 1960s, meditation has been the focus of increasing scientific research of uneven rigor and quality.[6] In over 1,000 published research studies, various methods of meditation have been linked to changes in metabolism, blood pressure, brain activation, and other bodily processes.[7][8] Meditation has been used in clinical settings as a method of stress and pain reduction.[9][10]

-          Will it really matter in a 100 years?  [expanded to ‘only if I let it stop me]

-          We are in the presence of divine happening.  The energy is moving whether we like it or not.  We might as well hang on for the ride.

-          To manifest miracles.  Personal / community / building

-          Had thought that I need to do a Sunday lesson as we only have an hour together / then realized Sunday is only an hour too LOL (noticed that rattled my cage)  What rattles your cage?

-          What goes into preparing a talk.  Heard many stories from others / brings up our fears / all that has stopped us in the past.  The fears / things that need healing so we can shine brighter, be who we are – our SOUL / be connected to GOD

-          A place of support – to up our #

-          Share what we see happening in our lives / in our church.  Ie. God Wink moments.  Talk Catherine did fitting with Fireside Chat process. GPS story

-          We each see from different perspectives. Ie shopping with friend, we see and point things out to each other.

CHANGE:
- letting go of habits like watching the news / reading newspapers

- may be as simple as bombarding our being with tapes/CD’s(audio)/books(visual)  Randy’s suggestion “when driving, bless drivers, tell them thank you for doing a good job, great job, I appreciate you, I love you, …..(action step)

- Start wherever you are and take the next step.  Dream bigger / Be bigger

- Tap into the wealth of talent that surrounds you.  It is NOT a mistake that you are here in this moment.  This MOMENT that counts.  This moment counts damn it [crying here]

- My healing > frustration

- I have a choice(s)  stick to what I know / am comfortable with OR learn to fly, step by step, breath by breath, by leaps and bounds.  Looks like baby steps at times and even 2 steps backwards….

- thank you God is thanking OURSELVES

- I kept trying to get around to ‘meditating’ (what my picture of meditating looked like) and then realized that writing these notes was a meditation.  Creating is a meditation / a connection with God.  These thoughts were flowing in, speaking to me and through me – I was in the flow / connected

-IDEA – instead of yoga, lets dance /move around.  Grandmother Mona says in her culture, dancing is massaging Mother Earth.

- Fear that popped up for me
    - would we lose members that weren’t on same page / didn’t like change.  Realized that this VESSEL can hold all if I am coming from non-judgment / acceptance / non expectation

     - open to honest healthy communication / willing to be heard / willing to listen and hear.

     - being okay with others and where they are (patient)  AHH!  Starts with being okay with wherever I am…. AHHH!  Noticed that that is an excuse for me to be small again, shrink away… [writing got very small here]

WAKE UP:
- we are in for a HELL(O) of a ride.  You might as well enjoy it.

CHOICES

For anyone that is wondering, I am 62.  I remember when I was in elementary school, I got tired of listening to everyone’s problems.  I remember saying to myself, “I don’t want to do this anymore.  I will grow up when I’m 40”  As I am writing this I suspect that I was in conversation with angels / spirit guide / God.  Anyway, poof – people stopped coming to unload on me.

Over the years I drifted in and out of Healing and Meditation workshops,  Fast forward to 40.  I decide to celebrate my birthday for the entire year.  I wrote a list of all the things that I have been wanting to do and hadn’t gotten around to, with plans to do them all.  Did some.

All about choice we make 


- take a day off. (day of rest)  any day, not man made day / time

- back to basic’s / building a foundation

Friday Morning:

- MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM on computer
   - put records on Words last night.
    - [ah ha – It was me that was M.O.S  - I hadn’t meditated yet]  Prayer taped to bathroom mirror [copy to share]

Mindfulness exercise / eat raisin

- write BEHIND THE SCENES blog story

- HOW TO?
    - Nothing to DO.  Just be who you are.  Show Up [ Grow Up / Show Up]

    - exercise > stand up, close eyes.  Think of something you are struggling with.  Got it? 
Now, open your eyes.  Take a step sideways AND GET OUT OF YOUR WAY.

Of course do the work needed.  Trust / love / accept / open to the bigger picture / this or something better / surrender / play (balance)

- get Judith to explain why I have get great idea’s when in washroom.  We are __% H2O

HOW TO PREPARE for the Mosleys arrival

   - Read Glenns book

   - start working with energy
         - ask for parking spots
         - start doing Healing Hover Touch / practice after church / meditation
       
HAVING a picture of ‘LOVE’ as nudging a beautiful flower to grow in anothers heart space.
We are all beautiful flowers blossoming.
[Gad, we should all be fields of flowers / giant bouquets, >we all have so much fertilizer in our lives]

- been signing emails with small ‘k’ / minimizing myself? – now choicing to use ‘K’ – be big

KISS – pay attention and attend to the little things / do personal housekeeping / clean up your ‘house’ (body)

- everything I do, see, hear, brings lessons to share (originally wrote – shade)

-Rmd mall exercise example.  Notice I am out of step / sync for a step or 2 and then I catch up…  All it takes is to STOP for a second and join in again.  No need to try!  Work at the “it”


- Even using this itouch teaches me – sometimes it automatically drops finished words into place saving me work…  It puts periods in and starts the next word with a capital and if I take too long, it doesn’t put the period in and all I have to do is backup and try again.  It even corrects my spelling mistakes.  How cool is that.

We could have an ongoing dialogue via email or blog site.

Oct 12 Meditation

Back to basics / noticing
  Ie: change and our relationships with it.  What does that look like / feel like / sound like

- do exercise routine (clapping coordination one)

- Heading to washroom experience.  Nearest one had Doors locked a couple days ago so I was heading for food fair area one.  I was 2 steps past the closer one when I woke up to the FACT that the doors were open.

- THEME > change / change seats experience

- this itouch even finishes words for me

- enjoy nature

- How many were at the Mosleys workshop?
      - How many have read Glenns book??
      - How many are practicing Healing Hover Touch?
      - And have you researched NAET?

How many were here last week?
      - How many are using Neelams breathing meditation?

How many were here for Randy’s lesson a few Sundays ago?
      - How many of you are using his suggestion of blessing all the people in cars?

Idea:
Write meditate definition on strips of paper and let each person take a slip and read it.  Then read the entire definition and the word.

Share at the end.  Learn from each other.
